1947

Cutler Real Estate has been helping people buy and sell homes since 1947! We have earned a reputation for providing superior service with honesty, integrity, and getting the results our clients and customers want. In 1947 E.L. (Al) Cutler—an avid hunter—had a primary goal of starting a real estate business to earn enough money to open a sporting goods store. Two years later, he loved real estate too much to leave.

  With Crisis Comes Opportunity: Jim Camp tells the story of overcoming challenges of the recession and coming out on top.

1970

Fast forward to the 1970s, when Al Cutler connected with Jim Bray (who would become Al's partner for many years). Jim Camp joined the company in 1973 and in the mid ‘90s became our Principal Broker. Jay Cutler grew up in the company, officially joining Cutler Real Estate in 1975 after graduating from The Ohio State University. After passing the bar in 1983, Jay became Partner and Chief Legal Counsel. The 1980s marked a turning point in real estate with 17% interest rates and 21% adjustable rate mortgage loans. This made it difficult and expensive to buy a home. Sales dipped and many real estate companies went out of business during this time, but we survived. In fact, through the 80s and 90s Cutler continued to grow as a leader in the real estate industry and in the community. With internet technology in its infancy, Cutler Real Estate and (then president) Jim Bray became an early adopter.   Orange and Blue: Andy Camp discusses the evolution of our branding.

2006

Cutler Real Estate was a franchise real estate company for over 30 years, representing Gallery of Homes and Better Homes and Gardens. Then, in 2005, the company faced a challenging decision: renew with a franchise network, which meant settling on the solutions and branding they provide, or stay true to our company's commitment to innovation and launch our own independent brand. After a great deal of research, the company took the bold step and declared our independence in 2006! The Colors of Success: Our colors are orange and blue. Orange represents enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success, encouragement, and stimulation. Blue symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, and truth. The combination of these colors encourage a fun and professional atmosphere at Cutler Real Estate.   If You Are Not Growing You are Shrinking: Andy Camp tells the story of our growth into multiple Ohio regions and into Kentucky.

2012

By taking control of our own brand, Cutler Real Estate could invest more in our Realtors and the local communities we serve. We implemented dynamic compensation plans for our Realtors. We consolidated and revamped our office environments. We changed the way we managed transactions. We created an effective "offline to online" marketing strategy. The results? Making a complex transaction simple for our Realtors and our customers. Andy Camp joined the company in 2001 and held increasing responsibilities including recruiting and management. Cutler Real Estate again survived and thrived through the Great Recession. By 2012 Cutler Real Estate expanded into Cincinnati. Then into Columbus in 2013.
