1. What is your professional/educational background?
I graduated from Westerville North High School and then went on to THE Ohio State University where I studied Business Marketing, and also attended Hondros College where I completed pre-licesning courses and obtained my Real Estate license at age 19. I moved to Phoenix, Arizona several years later where I worked in various positions of Mortgage Lending over the course of 10 years, such as Processing, Closing, Funding, and finally as an Originator. I moved back to Ohio in 2006, and once my youngest was in school full-time I made the decision to come back to the Residential Sales side of the industry. I got relicensed to sell Real Estate in 2017 and have been serving Buyers and Sellers in Central Ohio ever since.
2. Why did you choose a career in real estate?
When I was growing up, I used to go with my parents on the weekends to Open Houses and homes in the process of being built, just to see the different floorplans and designs. We also went most years to the Parade of Homes, where I would be in awe of the extravagant sizes, features and decorating in each house on the tour. When I was in high school my parents were looking to move, and we started working with a local REALTOR. She was confident, successful, and got to interact with people all the time while getting to see different homes from all over town, and that's when I knew I wanted to do what she did when I "grew up". The fact that I've been passionate about Real Estate for the majority of my life means being a REALTOR isn't just What I am, it's Who I am. Talking and connecting with people comes easily for me, and I really do love what I do. Being able to help my clients achieve their homeownership goals is exceptionally rewarding, and having a career that's able to be flexible so I can still be there for my family makes it a perfect fit.
3. What area do you live in currently and what do you like about where you live?
I was born and raised in Westerville, Ohio, which is where I currently live. Westerville has always been a special place, a large suburb with a small-town feel, and it has continued to just get better over the years. Westerville has always been primarily residential, but our Uptown area is thriving with an eclectic range of locally owned restaurants, shops and regularly scheduled events and festivals. It's the hub of town and brings the whole community together. Westerville touts itself as a City Within a Park and is a Tree City USA town. This is evidenced by the numerous trees, trails, and parks within walking distance for most residents. All this and we're just a short drive to everything else that Central Ohio has to offer.
4. How do you spend your free time?
In my free time I'm usually hanging with my family and dogs, watching Buckeye Football, meeting up with friends for dinner and drinks, taking walks, and I periodically host food trucks at our home for the neighborhood and anyone else in the community that wants to stop by!
5. If you could only keep 5 possessions what would they be?
My photo albums, my phone, my down comforter and pillows, and moisturizer!
6. In one word, how do you think your friends/family would describe you?
