Biography

1. What is your professional/educational background?

I hold a graduate degree in Cybersecurity and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, with a minor in Aircraft Maintenance. My professional certifications include:

  • CompTIA Security+
  • Certified Ethical Hacker
  • Certified Network Defense Architect

My career began in the U.S. Navy as a jet fighter mechanic, where I developed a strong foundation in technical problem-solving and discipline. My passion for technology led me to transition into IT, and the Navy provided the training that launched my career as a cybersecurity specialist. After leaving active duty, I continued serving our country as a civilian cyber defender, protecting national assets from digital threats.

While cybersecurity was my primary profession for many years, I eventually discovered my passion for real estate. What started as personal investments in rental properties and fix-and-flip projects evolved into a full-time career. Today, real estate is my sole focus, and I apply the same analytical skills, strategic thinking, and risk assessment principles I honed in cybersecurity to help my clients make informed decisions.

2. Why did you choose a career in real estate?

My journey in real estate began unexpectedly when I purchased my first home in Hampton Roads, Virginia, during my time in the Navy. A sudden change in duty stations forced me into the role of a landlord overnight. Without experience or knowledge, I navigated the challenges of property ownership the hard way. Years later, after leaving active duty and relocating to Columbus, Ohio, I faced a major setback—my rental property in Virginia had been neglected by tenants and was in severe disrepair.

The financial burden of maintaining two properties pushed me to the brink of foreclosure. Desperate for solutions, I turned to books, blogs, and online courses to educate myself on real estate investing and property management. Through persistence, I restored the Virginia property, avoided foreclosure, and transformed my financial outlook.

That experience ignited a passion for real estate. I became a Certified Private Money Broker to better understand how lenders think, empowering me to make smarter investment decisions. Along the way, people began asking for my help—whether to buy, sell, or invest. I realized my true calling: helping others achieve their real estate dreams.

As a realtor, I guide my clients through the complexities of real estate transactions, sharing my knowledge and firsthand experiences so they can avoid costly mistakes. The greatest reward is seeing my clients' joy and relief at the closing table, knowing I’ve played a role in their success.

3. What area do you live in currently and what do you like about where you live?

I live in Westerville, Ohio, a city that perfectly balances small-town charm with modern convenience. What I love most about Westerville is its strong sense of community—there’s a welcoming atmosphere where neighbors look out for each other, and local businesses thrive.

One of the standout features of Westerville is its commitment to green spaces and outdoor living. With over 40 parks, scenic trails, and access to Hoover Reservoir, there’s always an opportunity to enjoy nature, whether it’s biking, hiking, or simply unwinding in a peaceful setting. The city’s dedication to maintaining these spaces makes it an ideal place for families, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone who appreciates a connection to nature.

Beyond its natural beauty, Westerville has a vibrant Uptown district, where historic charm meets modern energy. Locally owned boutiques, coffee shops, and diverse restaurants create a lively yet cozy atmosphere. Community events, like seasonal festivals and farmers' markets, bring people together and make it easy to feel at home.

Another reason Westerville is such a great place to live is its highly rated schools and focus on education. Families are drawn to the area for its strong academic programs, and Otterbein University adds to the city’s dynamic, forward-thinking culture.

Safety, convenience, and a deep sense of belonging make Westerville the kind of place where people move not just for a house, but to build a life. It’s a city that offers the best of both worlds—a tranquil, suburban feel with quick access to the excitement of Columbus. That’s why I love calling it home.

4. How do you spend your free time?

My children are my world, and I cherish every moment spent with them. Outside of family time, I enjoy biking, hiking, and traveling—especially to new destinations and coastal areas. Exploring different cultures, landscapes, and experiences fuels my curiosity and keeps life exciting.

5. If you could only keep 5 possessions what would they be?

I believe that memories and experiences hold more value than material things, but if I had to choose:

  • A family photo to remind me of my loved ones
  • A book for knowledge and inspiration
  • A music player to lift my spirit
  • A Swiss Army knife for practicality and survival
A GPS device—because adventure is best with direction

6. In one word, how do you think your friends/family would describe you?

Determined.

If you asked my friends or family, they’d probably say something like this:

"No matter what challenge comes his way, he refuses to let it stop him. If there's an obstacle in front of him, he finds a way around it, over it, or straight through it. Giving up just isn’t in his nature. Whether it’s his career, his personal goals, or helping others, he approaches everything with a mindset of ‘How can I make this work?’"

"I’ve seen him face setbacks that would make most people quit, but instead of backing down, he finds another way. He adapts, learns, and pushes forward, no matter how tough the situation is. That’s just who he is—he doesn’t accept defeat, and he won’t let the people around him accept it either. If you’re in his corner, he’ll do whatever it takes to help you succeed. That’s why we all know him as determined.”

Buying our FIRST home was an exciting experience, and we couldn't have done it without the incredible support we received. Daniel, our agent, was fantastic—he guided us through every step of the process with professionalism and care. Jon, our loan officer, was also extremely helpful and made the financing side smooth and stress-free. I'm truly grateful for both of their help. I would highly recommend them and would absolutely work with them again in the future if needed. -Yesenia and Jacobo
